Cough and Asthma

One of the most common symptoms of asthma is cough.  In fact chronic cough is something you should definitely have evaluated for the possibility of chronic lung disease.  As noted below, asthma is a combination of airway inflammation and airway narrowing.  The combination of these two events may lead to a variety of symptoms such as cough, wheezing, shortness of breath and decreased exercise tolerance.  Any one of these symptoms may be an indicator that you have asthma or that your asthma is not adequately controlled.
